Transgender Day Of Remembrance

Each year, November 20th  marks Transgender Day of Remembrance: a day when we remember those lives lost to anti transgender violence and hate.

We commemorate and remember those we lost over the past year, and beyond. Below documents those we must remember from Oct 2023 – Oct 2024.
Trigger warning: Suicide, violence, graphic detail, hate language, world issues

Across the UK and the world, transgender people continue to face discrimination on a daily basis which, in many cases, has led to tragic circumstances: hate crimes against the transgender population world-wide have increased hugely in recent years.

We were pleased to be joined by Perth & Kinross Council, together with our partners, for a candlelight vigil at 6pm in St. Pauls Square, Perth, where we jointly demonstrated that organisations across Perthshire are working towards a safer and welcoming environment for the trans community.

Afterwards, the Rainbow Rooms opened its doors to the community to gather, talk and add memories and wishes to a tree of remembrance.

Partners: Rainbow Rooms, Perthshire Pride & Perth Parrots Floorball Club
